Forum Brief: Fox hunting
More than 200 Labour MPs have demanded the reintroduction of legislation to ban fox hunting, stepping up pressure on the government to outlaw the sport by the autumn.

A spokesperson for DEFRA said: "The prime minister has said that the manifesto commitment to resolve this issue will be met."

Simon Hart, chief executive of the Countryside Alliance, said: "What the constituents of these MPs will make of their ongoing obsession with this issue will be revealed at the next election when their votes will be decided not by hunting, but by delivery on health, education, immigration and crime.
