Ken Livingstone, the mayor of London, has today given the go-ahead for two new tram schemes and two new bus schemes across London which aim to carry 138 million passenger journeys a year.

Forum Response: Transport for London

Bob Kiley, transport commissioner, told ePolitix.com: "These new tram and bus routes are designed to integrate into existing bus, rail and underground services as well as future developments such as Crossrail and the East London Line extensions. Their delivery will require active cooperation of the boroughs."
