Lib Dems 'split over campaign techniques'
The Times reports on unprecedented private criticism among Liberal Democrats of the general election campaign.
Lord Rennard and Lord Razzall are reported to be coming under particular criticism, for underestimating the strength of Michael Howard's campaign tactics and failing to deliver a significant breakthrough.
Although Liberal Democrats saw their share of seats increase to 62, this fell short of earlier expectations.
"Chris [Rennard] and Tim [Razzall] were incredibly complacent after 2001," one Lib Dem is quoted as saying. "They were given too much power and they failed to deliver."
