Tory councillor arrested in postal vote inquiry

Some fifteen investigations involving eight police forces have begun into allegations of voting fraud during the election campaign.

As part of their inquiries, detectives have arrested a Conservative councillor in the marginal seat of Bradford West.

Meanwhile the prospect of legal challenges to the outcome of some election results has grown after Charles Kennedy signalled his party would seek legal redress in the event of any vote-rigging.
