Byers warns Blair over law on waging war
Stephen Byers tells the prime minister today that he must show that he has learnt and listened over Iraq.
The former transport secretary uses an article in the Times to advise Tony Blair to change the law so that parliament would decide whether the country goes to war.
Byers says that MPs should also be shown the legal advice to the government from the attorney general and informed of the intelligence on which conflict decisions are made.
