Galloway prepares Capitol Hill defence
George Galloway, the Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, appears in front of Congress today accused of profiting from illegal Iraqi oil sales.
Galloway denies all the allegations and has demanded an apology from the committee for what he called a "schoolboy dossier".
Meanwhile, a new US Senate investigation has claimed the Bush administration profited far more from sanctions-busting Iraqi oil sales than Galloway.
It found 52 per cent of the 'kickbacks' paid to the Saddam regime in exchange for cheap oil sales came from the US - more than the rest of the world put together.
