Nuclear option not needed yet, says government adviser
As the debate on the future of the UK's energy supply continues, the government's chief scientific adviser has ruled out an immediate return to nuclear power.
Sir David King said: "The British government viewpoint is that we must focus on renewable and energy efficiency, both clear winners in increasing the security of supply."
However he did not rule out nuclear power as a means of achieving climate change targets.
