Business red tape to be slashed

The government is set to announce a regulatory reform bill in next week's Queen's speech that seeks to adopt new plans to slash the estimated £100bn cost of regulation on business.

The bill will be taken through the Commons by John Hutton, the new Cabinet Office minister, and will set clear targets for the reduction of government-generated red tape - similar to those in place in the Netherlands.
