Five-point lead for Labour, says YouGov

Labour is five points ahead of the Conservatives, according to a YouGov poll for Friday's Telegraph.

The survey puts Labour on 38 per cent (up two), the Conservatives on 33 per cent (down three) and the Liberal Democrats 22 per cent (up two).

Last weekend, YouGov put Labour and the Tories on 36 per cent.

Tony Blair's lead has been boosted by "don't knows" saying they intended to vote Labour.

A leading Labour official, said: "There is no doubt there is a hardening up of the Labour vote."
