Blair makes personal plea
Tony Blair today makes a hand-written appeal to disillusioned Mirror readers.
The five page note is reprinted in full in the paper and spread across its front page.
In it, the prime minister acknowledges "there have been disappointments... [and] disagreements, some as over Iraq, were big".
However he calls on Labour supporters to return to the fold.
"If you value this strong economy, come out and vote for it," Blair asks.
"On May 5th, it will be your votes again which will be vital in deciding whether this country keeps going forward," he says.
Meanwhile, the Guardian reports that the Labour leader is to make five minute personal visits to voters' homes among other measures, to connect directly with the electorate.
