The FT has highlighted the improving relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, who have continued their series of joint campaign appearances with a weekend interview and a party political broadcast tonight.

The paper says the close working relationship suggests to many Labour MPs that the prime minister and chancellor have sealed a secret deal on passing over party leadership.
