PM probed over grace and favour flats
Tony Blair is facing parliamentary questions on why two ministers, who are not deemed to be at risk from security threats, are benefiting from grace and favour flats.
Environment secretary Margaret Beckett and deputy prime minister John Prescott use flats in Admiralty House in Whitehall, along with defence secretary Geoff Hoon, who has got security protection.
Liberal Democrat peer Lord Oakeshott has estimated that the flats could earn around £300,000 per year in rent for the taxpayer. He also asks why former home secretary David Blunkett is still in an official government property.
