Labour's campaign will recieve a boost from one of Britain's largest Islamic organisations today, which will say that despite the Iraq war the party's policies offer the most to muslims.

The Muslim Council of Britain will stop short of formally endorsing the party, however.

Separately, 10 senior muslim scholars today write to the Guardian to praise Labour's "positive achievements".
