Pope's death prompts mass pilgrimage

As the Vatican prepares a conclave to elect a successor to Pope John Paul some two million pilgrims are expected to arrive in Rome over coming days.

The death of the Pope has led to an outpouring of emotions both at home and abroad.

The prime minister is expected to attend the funeral service later this week - where he will join 200 world leaders including President Bush.

As the mourning continues, the media is today shifting its focus to the Papal legacy and the frontrunners to succeed the 84-year-old pontiff.
