Ahead of an expected May 5 election, Tony Blair will today talk up the economy as one of Labour's prime achievements.

Speaking to Labour's Scottish conference, the prime minister will say that the Conservatives would return the country to "boom and bust", mass unemployment, high interest rates and home repossessions.

He will add that Labour has stolen the badge of economic credibility from the Tories.
