The Commons defence committee will today publish a critical report into the care of young soldiers after a year-long investigation into the death of four young recruits at Deepcut barracks.

The report highlights a series of errors in the way that the army treated vulnerable young soldiers and criticises the training regime.

An MoD spokesman said last night: "We await the publication of the report. We do welcome the interest the committee has taken in this issue. We will look carefully at the report's findings and recommendations."
