Smuggling level 'unacceptable' say MPs
A Commons Treasury select committee report released today finds that cigarette, alcohol and fuel smuggling "remains at an unacceptable level", costing the taxpayer £3.8bn last year.
The MPs called for the government to do more to tighten customs rules and prosecute cases, arguing for increased investment in intelligence work.
