Red tape review to go Dutch
The government will this week publish its Philip Hampton review of regulation in a bid to reduce the burden of red tape on businesses and cut Whitehall running costs.
The Sainsubry's chairman's report will be issued alongside the Budget on Wednesday and is expected to recommend that minister adopt a Dutch model of merging quangos and forcing departments to drop a piece of regulation for every one they introduce.
