Council tax 'will rise after election'
Shadow local government secretary Caroline Spelman yesterday warned that the national revaluation of properties could lead to soaring council tax bills.
"This is a ticking tax timebomb primed to explode on doorsteps if Labour wins the general election," she said.
Local government minister Nick Raynsford dismissed the Tory "scare stories".
