Sayeed braced for new row
Jonathan Sayeed, the Conservative MP who returned from suspension this week, faces a new investigation after it emerged that he used House of Commons stationery to face down the threat of deselection by his local party.
Sayeed twice sent letters on Commons paper to many of the 650 members of his Conservative association before a meeting to decide his fate.
His second was dated February 9 - the day after his suspension from the Commons over his involvement in a company offering private tours of Parliament to rich Americans.
MPs are not supposed to use Commons stationery, which is funded by the taxpayer, for political activity.
