Unpaid overtime hits £23bn, says TUC
British workers give their employers £23 billion of unpaid overtime each year, according to union research.
The TUC has designated tomorrow "Work Your Proper Hours Day", when it will urge staff to carry out only the number of hours for which they are contracted.
Teachers and lecturers work more unpaid overtime than any other group of workers, the body said.
