Doctors wary of NHS IT programme

The government's attempts to construct an integrated IT system for the NHS in England may fail because of a lack of confidencce among the doctors who are supposed to use it, a Guardian poll of GPs and consultants suggests.

A year ago the medical pollsters Medix found 56 per cent of GPs in England were at least fairly enthusiastic, but during polling in the last week of January that fell to 21 per cent.
