Lords leader could quit for UN
The government has nominated Baroness Amos as a candidate to take over as head of the UN's development programme.
The leader of the House of Lords could quit the Cabinet after the election if she is selected for the key international post.
"She has an excellent range of political and diplomatic skills and an impressive track record in government," Downing Street said of the former international development secretary.
