Scots health problems worsen
The FT reports on growing doubts that the Scottish executive is managing its health budget effectively, as waiting list targets are missed and spending is set to go through the £10 billion barrier in the next three years.
Despite spending more than other parts of the UK on the NHS, life expectancy for women north of the border is the lowest in the EU.
Free care for the elderly is also proving to be more expensive than projected.
