Voters back Brown over Blair, says poll

Almost half the electorate, 49 per cent, believe Gordon Brown is doing a better job as chancellor than Tony Blair is as prime minister, according to a YouGov poll for the Telegraph.

Some 37 per cent of voters currently believe Blair is an asset to his party compared with 47 per cent who believe the opposite.
