Blunkett keeps Belgravia government home
The Times reveals that David Blunkett has been allowed to keep his £3 million official London residence until the general election, despite losing his job as home secretary.
Downing Street said the decision was for security reasons but the move means new Home Office boss Charles Clarke will have to have his own property upgraded at the taxpayer's expense and has prompted more speculation that Blunkett is set to be brought back into government at the earliest opportunity.
