Development agency Scottish Enterprise has issued a warning over the future competitiveness of the economy north of the border in a report seen by the FT.

Two particular problems are the low-value services produced in Scotland and the potential disadvantage of the nation's universities when their English counterparts begin to get new funding from top-up tuition fees.
