Round the clock drinking 'a myth'

The drinks industry has dismissed plans to campaign against the reform of licensing laws, claiming suggestions of round the clock drinking will prove to be a myth.

In reality the industry expects pubs to remain open for a few extra hours a week.

The move comes as the prime minister defended the overhaul, before pledging to "come down really hard" on those who abuse the new system.

Today's Mail claims that the majority of senior police officers backs its campaign against the relaxation of the drinking laws.
