MPs call for prison work reform
MPs on the home affairs committee say today that prisoners should be given work on a nine to five basis if they are to be properly rehabilitated.
In a report the committee calls for more inmates to be equipped with the skills to secure jobs when they are released.
The MPs also say that prisoners on day release could fill jobs currently done by foreigners brought into the country under managed migration schemes in order to meet labour shortages.
