Hunting ban 'unlawful', say campaigners

The High Court was told yesterday that the ban on hunting is unlawful.

Sir Sydney Kentridge QC, employed by the Countryside Alliance, said that the House of Commons could not impose new laws without the authority of the House of Lords.

He claimed that the Parliament Act 1949 - used by the Speaker to rush through the ban  - is "not truly an Act of Parliament".
