Medical advisers to the government have warned that pesticides might cause prostate cancer.

The Department of Health's advisory committee said farm working was the only possible job-related link to prostate cancer.

Experts on pesticide safety, reporting to Defra, will consider what steps to take at a meeting on Thursday.

A spokesman for Defra said any new evidence would be carefully considered.
