Mayor defends gay pride flags
Ken Livingstone has criticised an attempt by Westminster Council to prevent businesses in central London from flying the rainbow flags symbolising gay pride outside their premises.
The mayor described the order as "bullying" and said Westminster was attacking the cultural identity of the gay community.
He added: "A large number of thriving gay businesses in the Soho area have flown a rainbow flag over their premises for many years."
