Woolf denies murder retreat
Murderers who plead guilty will have their prison terms cut by no more than one sixth, Lord Woolf announced yesterday.
The lord chief justice denied he had given in to David Blunkett over the issue.
The original draft guidelines were heavily criticised by the former home secretary for suggesting murderers could spend 10 years in prison instead of the normal 15-year minimum.
