BNP leader arrested

The leader of the British National party has been arrested over remarks he made about Islam.

Nick Griffin's comments were recorded in an undercover documentary which exposed racism in his party.

He was held on suspicion of incitement to racial hatred and was questioned for several hours before being freed on police bail.

After his release he claimed that the arrest was "an electoral scam to get the Muslim block vote back to the Labour Party".
