A government memo leaked to the Sun reveals that Alan Milburn is seeking to expand his portfolio.

Labour's election supremo is demanding copies of all notes to the prime minister and has ordered ministers to restrict submissions to two pages at the most.

Milburn also insists he now has overall control on key economic issues including pensions and savings.
