Ministers warned over traffic congestion
Motoring organisations have warned ministers that Britain's motorways will be congested throughout the day by the end of the decade because Britain has failed to keep pace with other European countries in expanding the network.
A study, by the Road Users’ Alliance, which includes the RAC Foundation and other motoring groups, found that only Ireland had a lower ratio of motorway length per head of population.
