New curbs for drivers on mobiles

Motorists who use mobile phones while driving will now be fined £60 with a three-point licence penalty.

The move comes after research by the Department for Transport found that motorists' use of hand-held mobiles had fallen only 25 per cent since it was made illegal last December.
