'EU army' deal near completion
Plans for greater European Union defence cooperation are set to be agreed by ministers today.
Branded an "EU army" by critics, Britain is expected to take a leading role in the new military force which aims to be able to deploy troops to trouble spots within 15 days.
Defence secretary Geoff Hoon meanwhile has warned he would "press the button" to stop an attack on the UK by Iran.
