Taxman takes film-makers to task
The Inland Revenue has launched a strong attack against the British film industry for "exploiting" tax relief offered by the Treasury.
Tax officials told industry leaders yesterday that the practice of "double dipping" - claiming the breaks twice on a single piece of expenditure - is against the spirit of the law.
The Revenue called on film-makers to clean up their act or face legislation, but producers said investment would go elsewhere without the incentives.
