Darling promises full safety review into rail crash
Alistair Darling has pledged a full investigation into Saturday's rail accident which left seven dead and dozens injured.
The transport secretary sent his condolences and pledged a full inquiry into the crash.
The accident occurred after the high speed London to Plymouth service struck a car at an unmanned level crossing.
The police believe the car driver, who was killed, may have been committing suicide.
"This is clearly a very serious accident and my deepest sympathies are with those involved and affected," said Darling.
The crash has led to fresh calls for unmanned level crossings to be scrapped.
