Fears grow over biometric passports
The Home Office has pledged to press ahead with plans for biometric passports despite fears that the technology is not reliable.
Minister Fiona Mactaggart accepted on Thursday that the failure rate could be as high as 10 per cent.
But she told BBC radio that the biometric technology would be used "together with all the other things that are presently used when passports are checked".
