Brown wary of China and India

Gordon Brown has warned of the threat to Britain’s prosperity from the rising economic might of China and India.

Speaking to his fellow world finance ministers at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, the chancellor highlighted the two countries' vast cost advantage over UK industry, saying that the wages of Chinese and Indian companies are "just five per cent of those in the UK".
