Scottish health minister Malcolm Chisholm has been sacked following criticism of his handling of a hospital reform programme.

In his reshuffle yesterday, first minister Jack McConnell also "asked" culture minister Frank McAveety to stand down after he was involved in a row over cuts at Scottish Opera.
