Brown hands over Churchill's budget box
Gordon Brown handed over an historic red Budget box once used by Sir Winston Churchill, to form an exhibit in a new museum to commemorate the wartime prime minister.
Lady Soames, 81, Churchill's only surviving child, accepted the fragile box, which had originally been made for William Gladstone in 1859.
Churchill used the Budget box during his period as chancellor from 1924 to 1929.
The box will go on display next year at a £6 million extension to the Cabinet War Rooms in Westminster.
