Blunkett asks critics what they would do
In an article for this week's Tribune newspaper home secretary David Blunkett has hit back at critics of his anti-terror laws.
"I don't want to know what people are against. I am painfully aware of what they don't like and what they would wish me to set aside. I want to know what people are in favour of and what their solution would be to protect us," he says.
"I want to know how those whose first instinct is to believe the worst of government, and to be vehemently against those trying against the odds to balance the pressures that exist, would themselves deal with this situation."
