Hughes set for Lib Dem presidency
Simon Hughes is expected to be named president of the Liberal Democrats today.
The former home affairs spokesman is said to have beaten Northern Ireland spokesman Lembit Opik in the race to succeed Lord Dholakia.
The party has held a postal vote of all 75,000 members.
