Jowell calls for 'new kind of politics'
Interviewed in the Guardian, Tessa Jowell says that Labour must treat people less as consumers and more as citizens.
The culture secretary says: "Between now and the election, there must be a crusade for a new kind of decent politics - of trust and engagement, seeing people as an asset. We must be willing to listen, willing to admit mistakes and willing to change. This is a profound challenge to the old 'command and control' approach to politics."
