A book to be published next week by Professor Allyson Pollock warns that the government's NHS reforms will prove a "disaster".

The University College London academic, a critic of private sector involvement in the health service, says that private companies "are finding lucrative new openings in the NHS, thanks to Labour's strategy of privatisation and public-private partnerships".
