Tories urge Sudan intervention
Shadow international development secretary John Bercow yesterday called for British troops to be sent to Sudan if the situation on the ground fails to improve.
"Unless there is evidence of real change, I believe that international action in the name of humanity is needed," he told the BBC.
Foreign Office officials condemned the proposal, saying that it put the safety of EU observers at risk.
