A Labour mayor and his daughter have been arrested by police investigating allegations of postal-ballot fraud in the local and European elections in June.

Patrick Tyrrell, mayor of Halton Borough Council, and his daughter, 45, were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of electoral fraud offences.
